Digital Access Service

CHAP are delighted to announce that they are now operating a 'Digital Access Service' which is part of the Better Off North Ayrshire Partnership which is funded jointly by the European Social Fund and the Big Lottery Fund. This service will allow individuals to be digitally included thus becoming financially included. The financially excluded ultimately end up paying more than they should for products. Alongside other factors, poor IT skills and lack of access to digital services can lead to and exacerbate poverty. Digital exclusion is becoming a particular issue as more products and services become online only. The Digital Access Service will:

• Allow people to compare financial services and products to facilitate access to better tariffs, rates of interest for borrowing etc... therefore assisting people to maximise the value of the resources they do have

• Allow access to online banking and payments enabling people to manage their money online. Being able to easily see and manage their own money can assist people to keep track of their income and expenditure

• Allow people to maximise their income by providing a facility where welfare benefits can be applied for online and ongoing claims managed.

The Digital Access Service is able to provide assistance to those who are resident in North Ayrshire and who are either unemployed, receiving a low income or are a lone parent.
