More than ever this year, health and work might both be under assault, especially if you are on a zero-hours contract, but CHAP (and other agencies) exist to make sure a tough time does not escalate into a personal crisis for anyone living in North Ayrshire.
Registered Social Landlords (RSL) have already reported an increase in rent arrears from June 2021 to September 2021 as some folks are finding their monthly income stretched thinner and thinner.
As the law stands at the moment, - although evictions were put on hold in Scotland in 2020 during the lockdown, - proceedings are able to restart on the 31st of March 2022. Unless further delays are introduced, many of the cases from 2020 will soon become live again - potentially causing huge stress on families and individuals facing debt and potential homelessness.
So, if you feel you could be one of those facing a coming storm this January, (it doesn’t matter to us how or why it came about) CHAP is here to help. We are independent, impartial and provide free debt, welfare and housing advice for anyone in North Ayrshire.
Our tightly-knit team of professionals has worked hard for the past 20 years to provide the advice people need for the life they deserve.
So, if you live in Ayrshire and are experiencing debt or housing hardship, we want you to know that there’s hope and assistance available to you.
Whoever you are or whatever situation you are in, we are here to help.
