CHAP is an Ayrshire based charity, offering advice and support with debt, welfare, and housing. It has been helping people from a base in Ardrossan for over twenty years and has recently expanded into offering services within community hubs.
We are ambitious to develop the community hub model further and to expand our geographic scope. We seek to employ a communications officer who shares our passion for offering non-judgemental support to help people live their best lives.
This is a new role, which we see as being full-time but are open to discussion on part-time or flexible hours.
We are office-based in Ardrossan (when not working at community hubs across Ayrshire) but are open to discussion of hybrid working.
The Marketing Communications Officer will report to the CEO and will have the support of colleagues involved part-time in fundraising and marketing. We are a cohesive and supportive group of people, committed to looking after colleagues and community, as well as those whom we directly support.
You would be responsible for establishing and maintaining information flow with key stakeholders, internally and externally.
This would include producing a regular online newsletter for staff, producing marketing and communications materials for fundraising purposes and creating/curating content for CHAP’s social platforms.
You are someone who is digitally-savvy, and who enjoys researching material to illustrate the points you want to make.
You will enjoy writing and have good communication skills, as well as natural empathy with a wide range of people, some of whom may be experiencing hard times.
You will be familiar with social media and, ideally, digital marketing techniques in order to build CHAP’s (currently limited) online profile.
A self-starter, we want you to be pro-active and suggest ways to broaden and improve our reach to diverse stakeholders; from public and private sector funders to those experiencing debt, welfare, and housing challenges, and of course, to colleagues.
If you think you have the enthusiasm, skills and experience required and would like to join this successful team, please telephone 030 0002 0002 to find out more or send your CV with a cover letter explaining why you think you are suitable for this position to enquiries@chap.org.uk. Alternatively, you can download an application form, complete it and email to enquiries@chap.org.uk.
